Get the care you’ve always deserved.

The variety of humanity is infinite.

There is no one way to treat, cure, or fix whatever brings you to therapy. The psychological symptoms that one experiences are not just “problems” to eliminate; they are signs of powerful underlying structures of the psyche that have yet to be explored with the time, attention, and space they deserve.

Integrating a variety of evidence-based practices and the powerful method of talk therapy, Emerald specializes in healing the following human experiences:

  • Anxiety & panic attacks

  • Depression

  • Relationship issues

  • Life transitions

  • Emotional dysregulation

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

  • PTSD and complex trauma

  • Early childhood trauma

How it works

Therapy works best when it is consistent and reliable. Sessions will be held at the same time on a weekly basis, unless otherwise agreed upon between you and your therapist due to clinical or financial need.

1. Feel it out

Prior to starting therapy, you will complete a brief consultation with your therapist to ask any questions, discuss scheduling preferences, and to ensure that you and Emerald are a good fit. If you are using insurance, our billing specialist will verify your benefits so you are aware of your deductible and any fees you may be responsible for during therapy.

2. Get started

Once your benefits have been verified and your intake documents are complete, you’ll begin therapy on a weekly basis. We understand that life is unpredictable and cancellations happen. We will try our best to reschedule within the week, but no-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of an appointment will be charged at a flat fee of $100.

3. Commit

Therapy is often a long-term commitment. You and your therapist will regularly work together as a team to establish goals, evaluate progress, and reassess needs. Therapy is dynamic and communication is a key component.

Insurance

Emerald is currently in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois and UnitedHealthcare. We are an out-of-network provider for all other major insurance plans and do not accept HMO policies. We can provide a super bill for you to seek reimbursement from your insurance if Emerald is out of network.

Private Pay

Insurance companies require a diagnosis for reimbursement and can often limit your access to personalized mental health care. Many clients choose to pay out of pocket for therapy to further protect their privacy. The rate for individual therapy is $145 per session. Couples therapy is $175 per session.
